Fall Fishing report
Update: Skagit is open. 4 coho limit - come get some, we are booking now!
Fall has started and is typically one of the best fishing times of the year with multiple species readily available. The puget sound rivers are closed until November 1st on the Sky and Stilly and December 1st on the Skagit and Sauk to protect the coho runs even though the returns have been looking great. WdfW jumped the gun this year. For east side steelhead I'll be fishing the Grande Ronde River slaying some chrome (partner needed for Oct 6 and 7th trip) multiple other dates available. Due to smaller steelhead returns the Methow will not be open on time if at all this year.
In later October I'll be fishing Salmon, steelhead and sea run cutthroat on the Olympic Peninsula Rivers. I do have a guy looking for a partner to split the cost of a trip for any or all days October 24th-27th. It's a prime time of year for coho fishing with lots of river options and lots of fish.
Local options now till November - Samish River: walk-in fishing for salmon and cutthroat. Lots of Kings in the river now and good coho and chum fishing will start soon. Small river nicknamed the ditch. Weekends can be crowded but mid week and October the river fishing pressure mellows a bit. Nooksack: walk-in fishing for salmon, cutthroat and bull trout. beach fishing: whidbey island
Local lakes are heating back up.
Cowlitz steehead and great cutthroat fishing
Hope to see ya on the water!
