2) Never hold back information on a fly pattern. This is not only encouraged, it is expected. 3) Although a 50 angler club outing on xyz river is acceptable, a 6 angler school can be construed as "filling up the river." 4) Fishing with strike indicators for trout is acceptable, doing so for steelhead is questionable at best. 5) Promoting activities & gear online is acceptable, but only by a "brick & mortar" shop. 6) Writing bill board sized advertising on trucks and boats encouraged, any online advertising is considered "self promoting." 7) Endorsing sponsored guide services online, while the character assassination of another by hearsay, is not only acceptable, but quietly encouraged. 8) Staring down another angler for even entering our pool is not really bad form. We are flyfishers. 9) We get to write rules on our interpretation of "angling intent", not on their actions. "Innocent until proven guilty" applies only to us, not the anglers around us.
And you thought guiding was just about taking a few people fishing...... Dennis Dickson |
