A hosted Adventure in the Mayan Riviera.

Let my wife and I escort you and yours to a wonderful winter hide away in Cancun Mexico. Girls will play while the boys chase Bonefish. Everyday is an Caribbean adventure. Life just doesn't get better than that.

Dates:
Jan 26-30 /Feb 2-6

• Warm & wonderful
• Clean & Safe
• All fishing boats & equipment, included
• Custom Packages: Prices start at $999

We will be on the Mayan Riviera that stretches from Cancun to Boca Paila on the Yucatan Peninsula. White limestone sands of the Caribbean extend the entire length of the coastline, sprinkled throughout with quaint cities and towns. There is a very nice single lane highway that runs this distance, with easy access to the activities on our itinerary. The Island of Cozumel sits out across from the bustling town of Playa Del Carmen, and the ruins of Tulum are right in the midst of our play area. The fishing is in a more remote area beyond the main highway, in the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve. See the fishing page for more information on this.

Distances: Cancun Airport to downtown Old Cancun - 15 minutes
Cancun Airport to Playa Del Carmen - 45 minutes
Playa Del Carmen to Tulum - 35 minutes
Tulum to Boca Paila - 35 minutes
Cancun Airport to Tulum - 80 minutes

The weather this time of year is warm, about 75-80 degrees during the day, 60's at night. A light jacket will be needed for the evenings with the ocean breezes.

It definitely helps to know at least a smattering of Spanish to communicate with the Mexican people, though most vendors can understand English fairly well. The most difficulty is in the small towns with family owned businesses. The people, however, are very friendly, and will bend over backwards to help you and make you comfortable and understood.

We have found that most places take American dollars, and many, but not all, take Visa/Mastercard. There are Exchange booths everywhere, but we choose to use the banks, as their rates are better. It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the peso to dollar exchange. A general rule of thumb (at this time) is 10 pesos to 1 dollar.

We will organize much of your transportation once we meet up in the morning, but should you choose to rent your own vehicle, it can be arranged by Internet prior to arriving at the airport, or you can do it while you are there. The airport prices tend to be very high, cars are cheaper when rented from Playa Del Carmen. It is high season for tourists at this time, however, so availability and choice may be an issue. If you are traveling fairly light (which we recommend), shuttles are readily available the entire distance from Cancun to Tulum, and they are very cheap transportation (i.e.. $6 from Tulum to Playa Del Carmen). They run regularly and are quite modern.
