Scenario: We had been out for maybe an hour, we had the teasers out and had jumped a couple dorado. I love these fish because their fight is much like a steelhead except they jump about 8 feet out of the water, which is kind of a rush. At least they won't burn up your reel like the school of jack crevalle did the day before. So we are motoring along, the seas are flat and the sun is just coming up on the horizon. It is about 75 degrees. Water Temperature is about 80 - typical February day. Embarto, suddenly lifts and looks into the daisy chain teasers. Pointing, he shouts, "Marlina!, Marilna!". You can't help it, your heart quickens. The angler looks at me and I say "here ya go!"...

There are actually several types of blue water fishing techniques I have developed over time. Some of our fishing is out on the open water as just described for striped marlin or dorado, but much of it is also done right along the shoreline for jacks, sierra, rooster fish, and pargo. Trust me, they will all leave you so fast, your fly line will look like it was shot out of a bow. It can be as technical as "Marlin, 50 foot out at 2 o'clock!" To as easy as "OK, honey hold on real tight and no matter happens, don't let go!"

I would have to say the biggest thing Cabo has going for it is that women love to go there. It is THE place for the LA hang out. You and I, we just go for the fishing. Don't get me wrong, some of my most die-hard clients are women and Oh can they fish!
