Washington just announced Neah Bay opening !

Greetings!

Spring has started off with some fine native steelhead from our North Puget Sound streams. Most of our big fish came from the Sauk including Bill Jams 18 lbs. male, my 20 lbs. male and Dr. Frank Schinn's 16 lbs. hen. Mr. Herb Roberts swam an estimated 17 lbs. female on Skagit and Mr. Dan Mauls buddy Doug released a pretty 15 lbs. buck from the Stilly. And we aren't even into the best fishing time yet! The rivers have been abnormally low this year, so we have had to adapt.

I know some of you are wondering why I am not in Alaska right now. I have had some family emergency problems which has kept me closer to home. I apologize to all those who were scheduled to go up again for this year. Yes, we are already making plans for 99'. I will ask Sandy, my web developer to put some our pictures up,from last year. If you think you might be interested, this is an awesome trip but let me know ASAP. Trips fill quickly. Lodge stay two anglers/ guide, 5 days/4 nights $2300.

May

What I will be doing this year, is floating the N.F. Stilly in May. This is also an excellent native steelhead fishery. Dates are filling already. We float primarily from Oso down to Cisero when Deer Creek allows, Sea Post down to the Whitman bridge when it doesn’t. We use the same flies and lines as on the Sauk. Early indications are, the fish are showing in the lower river now. It looks good.

June

We are planning our annual pilgrimage to our Canadian Lake trip. We will take five anglers at a time, for the famous Damsel fly hatch. This secret lake carries the strongest rainbow trout I fished anytime, anywhere. It is a ten hour travel from Seattle. Sorry, for any more information than that, you will have to call me. Dates: June 15-17 & 18-20th. Cost $499/ angler. Totally outfitted.

New to Steelhead Flyfishing? I am offering my Two Day Flyfish Summer Steelhead Flyfishing School on the N.F. Stilly, again this year. You will learn the Dennis Dickson flies, and techniques to catch this prize of the Northwest. We time these schools for fishing at prime time, when the fish are really in. This totally outfitted steelhead experience has a class size of 5 anglers / school. Dates: July 27, 28 & 29,30. Cost: $250/ angler. Want more one on one? Book of regular day trip, and tell me you are new. I will take care of the rest including flies and equipment.

August

Early August will find me out at Neah Bay teaching my popular "Flyfishing Saltwater Silvers" class. How good is it? We have had plenty our share of 100 fish days. I am not kidding, it is a blast! I will try to get a "Neah Bay Silvers" article "Tips and Technique" up on my site. I will keep you posted. Four angler /class. Cost $250/angler. Two day class. Be sure to schedule a day or two for fishing on your own, after the course. Equipment and flies are provided, but not boat or stay. More information coming as Washington State Fisheries sets season dates.

Aug 3-5 class is full

Aug 6-7 has openings

August is prime time for summer steelhead. Look for me back on the Stilly until the fall. Daily rates apply. That is my "flyfishing summer "in a glance. I will have some summer pictures up on the site in the future. Can I help you make a photo?

Email me or call me anytime, when I am not fishing, I enjoy talking about it.
